I have become increasingly interested in the contemporary art idea of making shows that are more experiential. The installations I have recently made provide this experience to the visitor or viewer in a small-scale way.
Canyons, at the Ply Gallery, in North London, used my Ektachrome film images of the Grand Canyon to sit alongside paintings and other images.
In The Boyhood Project, I put objects and images from my time in boarding school into three stacked old wooden drawers to create a feeling from that time.I showed this piece in St Augustine’s Tower in Hackney, London as part of a Degrees of Freedom show.
For Exposure, Giles and I designed a large-scale octagonal installation (The Henge) in which seven of my paintings hang.
